Hinge Pin Door Stop Install

If you re putting on on an exterior door you should add at least two door stops.

Tap it back in with your hammer. Slide the pin back through the door stop hole and the hinge. Place the door stop pin into the pin slot on the hinge and situate the hinge pin with a gently hammer action tapping lightly. A door that opens too wide can damage your walls.

Step 3 adjustments. Note the direction that the hinge pin is facing the flat part is against the door the round part hits the molding. The padded door bumpers will prevent damage to the door when the stop is used. Installing a hinge pin door stop is an easy and inexpensive way to correct this.

This leaves the stopper assembly. The doors are heavier. Insert the hinge pin into the hole in the stopper assembly from above so that the shank of the pin extends below the assembly. Watch our video for more i.

The hinge pin door stop will have an adjustable threaded screw that you can turn to widen or narrow the gap you wish to set.
